Many little girls like to have their friends over for a slumber party when it is their birthday. There can be a lot of pressure on parents to organise the best party for their daughter. Some parents put this pressure on themselves as they try to organise a better party than any of the other mums at school. There is time and effort that goes into organising a fun girl’s slumber party, but it will be worth it when your daughter tells you it was the best night ever.

It can be a good idea to have a fancy dress theme or style that all the guests stick to. Girls like to dress similarly in a pink velour tracksuit or fairy outfits. Adding a bit of fun to what the children wear can also take the pressure off parents finding something comfortable and smart for their children to wear.

Get the food right and you are sure to have a great children’s party. You need to make sure that the guests have no allergies and accommodate any special dietary requirements. Then you are free to go wild with the spread you put on for the children. So you don’t need plates, knives or forks, keep food finger sized and easy to pick at.

Pizza, crisps, cake and sausage rolls are all good choices. Or if you want something a little more healthy, you can get crackers and dips, cheese sticks and fruit sticks, although most children would prefer a bit of junk food at a party.

If all the children are sleeping over, you should ask mums and dads to send their child along with a sleeping bag or duvet cover and a pillow. Try to make sleeping arrangements as comfortable as possible otherwise you might have some grouchy children to deal with in the morning.

Follow these tips and you are sure to throw a successful slumber party for your daughter.
